The Festival of Wood & Barrel-Aged Beer, the world’s largest and most prestigious barrel-aged beer festival and competition, returns to Chicago Nov. 16-17 at UIC Forum (725 W. Roosevelt Rd.). More than 200 craft breweries from across the United States will showcase their rarest, most innovative wood and barrel-aged brews, competing for top honors in The National Barrel Aged Beer Competition.
Want to be a part of history, among the first (and sometimes only) to experience some of the most exotic barrel-aged beers on Earth? We thought so.
General admission tickets can be purchased beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 12 until they are sold-out.
Tickets are available for three tasting sessions:
Friday, Nov. 16 from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 17 from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 17 from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m.
General Admission | Tickets are $85 (plus processing fees)

National Barrel Aged Beer Competition
A time-honored tradition, participating breweries will compete for top honors in The National Barrel Aged Beer Competition. A panel of industry leaders and certified judges evaluate all featured beers, awarding Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals, as well as ‘Best in Show’ honors, prior to the public sessions.
Style categories for the 2018 National Barrel Aged Beer Competition are as follows:
1. Strong Porter/Stout (>7% abv.)
2. Specialty Strong Porter/Stout (>7% abv.)
3. Barleywine/Wheatwine
4. Strong Pale Beer (> 7% abv.)
5. Strong Dark Beer (> 7% abv.)
6. Fruit Beer
7. Specialty/Experimental Beer
8. Wild Beer/Brett (non-acidic)
9. Wild Beer/Sours (acidic)
10. Wild Beer/Sours (acidic) w/Fruit
11. Cider/Mead/Perry
PLEASE NOTE:
Tickets go on sale Wednesday, September 12 at 10:00 a.m. CST. Tickets are $85 plus payment processing fees through Universe. Each transaction is allowed up to four (4) tickets. Each ticket holder will receive a complimentary glass, a FoBAB booklet, and 20 samples. All sales are final. Tickets are transferable for General Admission sales. No refunds are available.
